This is a heartbreaking story and very painful to read, but it is an important story and has definitely given me a different perspective on the Amish. The religion seems to be organized in a way that protects sexual predators and silences children and women, which is incredibly disturbing, but also not surprising. These isolated cult-like religions seem to have that in common (think of Warren Jeffs and the FLDS).On another note, I was often very distracted by the astounding number of grammar mistakes and strange typos on almost every single page of this book. (Sometimes she spells her aunt's name Fanny and sometimes it's Franny). I literally felt like I was reading a rough draft, and for me, that really took something away from the seriousness of this amazing story. This book needs a professional editor ASAP because this story deserves to be told without unnecessary distractions that interfere with the credibility of the author's writing.
